Community Service Day At the Mid-Ohio Food Bank
As a part of our mission to serve our local community, Eagle Financial Solutions and Eagle College Planning are proud to support the Mid-Ohio Food Bank!
This year, for our annual Community Service Day outing on Friday, December 2, we volunteered as a team at the Grove City warehouse and food pantry.
Advisors and staff helped families shop for food in the pantry, assisted with loading groceries, and also stocked shelves in the pantry.

We were also treated to a tour of this impressive facility, which serves the entire mid-Ohio region, and also helps other food banks around the state and the country when needed. The Mid-Ohio Foodbank is the largest in the state, serving 20 counties, and the Grove City food pantry is one of the largest and well-stocked food pantries in the entire country. The food bank employs 120 full-time employees, plus hundreds of volunteers who donate their time to serve in various capacities. Melanie Canini restocks refrigerator cases in the pantry.

The food bank manages more than 66 million pounds of food each year, a surprisingly high percentage of which (55%) is fresh fruits and vegetables. Through their pantry and various partnerships, the Mid-Ohio Foodbank provides nearly 150,000 meals every day for hungry families throughout Central and Eastern Ohio. Following our shift, we enjoyed a late lunch at Schmidt’s Sausage Haus in German Village.
