College Essay Bootcamp

Did You Know We Do This?

Many of our clients and contacts are aware that we help families financially plan for college. After all, the cost of college these days can be astronomical – especially for families with multiple children.

Indeed, this is a very important piece of what we do. Having a plan in place to pay for college ahead of time, rather than being reactive and taking a “band-aid” approach, can mean the difference between a comfortable retirement, and ending up with unsustainable amounts of debt.

But did you know we do a lot more than that?

You might not be aware that we also take a very active role in helping your student prepare for college. We have a full suite of services dedicated to helping your student explore his or her interests, match them up with majors and careers, choose the right school for the right value, and improve his or her test scores and qualify for more financial aid. Our team works both virtually and locally one-on-one in our office with students to help them through the college preparation process and position them for success during the college years and beyond.

For example, last weekend, we held a College Application Essay Bootcamp for our students at the Ohio Student Union (see photo above). Our local college essay expert led the session, and was able to work one-on-one with each student in helping them to craft a compelling college essay that will help them stand out from the crowd when applying to colleges this fall. Each of our students left the session with a strong first draft in hand. (The event was free for clients, but we asked each student to bring 5 non-perishable food items to donate to a local food bank as part of our mission to support our local community.)

This is just one small part of the college planning services we provide! If you or your student need help with the college planning process, we’d love to sit down with you and discuss your situation individually, and see if there is anything we can do to help.
